Calcendo

About Calcendo

Calcendo is an independent calculator platform built around one idea: a result is only useful when you can see how it was produced.

What we build

Calcendo publishes 120 calculators and 187 learning guides across tax, salary, loans, business, mathematics, science, health, construction, conversion, travel and education. Every calculator page shows the formula, a worked example, the assumptions applied and the limitations that matter.

Why region matters

Most calculator sites assume one country. We do the opposite. Currency, date format, measurement system, tax year and terminology adapt to the region you choose — a home loan is a “bond” in South Africa and a “mortgage” in the United States, and the tax engines behind them are entirely different. Choosing a region never blocks access to another country’s tools, and we never redirect you automatically.

Editorial accountability

Calcendo is an independent educational tool, not a tax practice, medical provider, engineering firm or government service. We do not imply that every tool has been individually certified by a licensed professional. Where a result may affect money, health, construction or legal obligations, we identify important limitations and encourage users to verify current rules against primary sources. Corrections can be submitted through our contact page.

How we build a calculator

  1. We find the authoritative published formula or statutory table and record its source and effective dates.
  2. We implement it independently in a versioned rule file, separate from the business logic, so historic years stay reproducible.
  3. We prepare topic-specific explanations and worked examples from documented briefs, formulas and input data. Some long-form learning copy is generated from those briefs, and automated checks do not replace specialist review.
  4. We test against published examples and reconcile against real documents where possible.
  5. We update affected tools when a rate, bracket or threshold change is identified, and welcome source-backed correction reports.

How we are funded

Calcendo is free to use. We plan to fund the work with clearly labelled advertising and relevant affiliate partnerships, and in future an optional premium tier for saved reports and bulk calculations. Advertising is never allowed to interfere with a result, and commercial relationships never influence which calculator we recommend. See our editorial policy.

Corrections

If you believe a calculation is wrong, tell us and show your working. We investigate every report, publish a correction note on the affected page, and bump the formula version. Reach us via the contact page.
