Localized calculator collection
South Africa calculators
Use this collection to explore salary, tax, VAT and home-loan calculations that are relevant to common South African questions. Each result depends on the inputs and assumptions shown by its calculator; a regional label does not replace an official assessment, payslip, lender quote or professional advice.

How to use these estimates responsibly
Start by choosing the calculator that matches the question you are trying to answer. For PAYE, confirm the tax year and enter the relevant salary and deduction assumptions. For VAT, verify whether the amount you have is tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive and enter the applicable rate. For a bond or loan estimate, use the rate, principal and repayment term from the quote you want to understand. If an input is unknown, compare several clearly labelled scenarios rather than treating one output as certain.
The same number can mean different things depending on timing and definitions. Gross salary is not the same as take-home pay. An estimated PAYE amount is not necessarily the final amount withheld on a real payslip, particularly where taxable benefits, irregular earnings, directives, retirement contributions or other adjustments apply. A VAT arithmetic result does not decide whether a supply is taxable, exempt or zero-rated. A loan repayment estimate may exclude insurance, initiation fees, service fees, property costs and variable-rate changes.
The calculators are designed to make assumptions visible and calculations easier to inspect. They do not access your SARS account, submit returns, issue a tax certificate, approve a loan or verify an employer's payroll. Keep your supporting documents and confirm material decisions with the appropriate institution or qualified professional.
Check official sources for current rules
Tax thresholds, rebates, credits and filing requirements can change. Before relying on a tax-related result, check the relevant year and guidance published by the South African Revenue Service. For employment-related rules, consult the responsible government department or a qualified adviser.
A note on regional settings
The region selector helps remember your preference; it does not automatically convert currencies or change every calculator's statutory rules. Check each tool's inputs, units, formula and limitations before relying on the result.
